Introduction About University
China Medical University (CMU) was the first Medical University which was established by the Chinese Communist Party in 1931 as ‘Military Medical School of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army’ in Jiangxi Province. However, the School was renamed to ‘Health School of the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army’ in October 1932. Prior to half a decade of being established, the school moved to Shaanxi Province in December 1935 and further shifted to Yan’an in January 1937 being renamed to ‘Health School of the Eighth Route Army’ and was finally renamed to its current name ‘China Medical University’ in September 1940. In November 2945, the school moved further Northeast until 1946 when it reached Xingshan (Currently known as Hegang), Heilongjiang Province and absorbed Northeast Military Medical University and in January, 1947 also absorbed the Medical College of Northeast University and Harbin Medical University partially. In 1948, China Medical University created four branches, out of which two go by the modern-day Harbin Medical University and one as Chengde Medical College. Finally, in November, 1948, the University shifted to its current day location of Shenyang by engulfing Shenyang Medical School and the previously private Liaoning Medical College. Since 1954, China Medical University has been under the administration of the Chinese Ministry of Health. In 1956, China Medical University was renamed to ‘Shenyang Medical College’ before regaining its name of ‘China Medical University’ in early 1978.
Location And Campus
China Medical University is located in downtown Shenyang (Heping District) – the capital city of Liaoning province. The campus is located in the Centre city just next to the Zhongshan Square and has all the necessities in the vicinity with easy access to the bus stop, metro station, hotels, supermarkets, fast food chains, restaurants and all the basics, thus making it easily accessible to almost everything one needs. China Medical University has also recently built a new campus in Shenyang North New Area.
China Medical Universities occupies 1.1105 Million square meters of area and has a well-built library home to 1.254 Million books and 21 Terabytes of e-resources.
China Medical University boasts a staff of 9,157 among whom 751 are professors, 1087 are associate professors while 1240 are postgraduate supervisors.

MBBS Fees for International Students
MBBS is a 6-year program at China Medical University. The fee structure for studying MBBS at China Medical University is as follows:
Tuition Fee: RMB 40,000 / Year
Accommodation: RMB 7,500 for a single room / Year
Application Fee: RMB 800 (Only in the First Year)
Physical Examination Form Fee: RMB 700 (Only in the First Year)
Insurance: RMB 600 / Year
Residence Permit: RMB 800 / Year
Any other fees not mentioned above, are to be paid by the student him/herself.
Living Conditions For International Students
International Students will be given a single room to live in with all the basic facilities like bed, table, chair, cupboards, television, air-conditioner. Etc. However, the beddings are to be bought by the student themselves and the bills for usage of electricity and water are to be burdened by the student him/herself. Public kitchens are available to the students for cooking. Attached washrooms and/or public washrooms are available.

Deadline to Register at the University: Between September 11 and September 13 but may vary from year to year.
